Seems Google has just bought a mobile company just because of it's patents. So i thought i'd give some patent trivia locally.
http://www.kipi.go.ke/index.php/the-community - It seems software programs are not patent-able in Kenya.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_patent - Only the US encourages software patents globally, interesting
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_software_patents - US List of patents

Hi All,

A request from a friend of mine.

<quote>
We are looking for a partner CSP to provide PRS with an international group.

The group is seeking to partner with a local company that is capable of
providing a facility that can handle up to 20,000 min of calls per month.
The calls shall be originating from abroad and accessing services within the
facility, preferably using a "short-code" number (is possible?).

Please advise on the viability of such a partnership, and advise what
capital investment (hardware) would be required to get the facility
functional.

[The client is willing to start out using a single E1 link at the beginning
of the project]
</quote>

Anyone know of a business which can handle this? Please send me contacts.

Thanks

Yeah, Software patents tend to be more beneficial to trolls than to
developers, in the US, spotify was sued in less than 2 weeks for violating
the patents of a firm that doesnt have any known products or services

I keep saying that to me, HTC have more potential, they came in later than
Samsung, but are now number three, and yes, their devices do not look
anything like the Apple ones. HTC are the majority owners in the fancy Beats
by Dre.

Am I the only one finding it funny that orange are promoting both the
iPhone and the galaxy s totally ignoring the battle in Europe.

Talk about lack of loyalty. Apple should ave gone with Airtel or safaricom.
