
Hi @David, adding my thots, corrections welcome. The PTT demarc is the RJ45/RJ11. This zone falls under public networks and is thus regulated to devices that connect to it. I think the reason for type approvals is that devices not hinder or subject public networks to various faults or interference while also meeting lightning/static conditions/telco standards. The E1/Analogue cards fall into this category. I think if anyone is doing these cards commercially, they should look into it, incase they have issues down the road. Rgds. Am not sure about type approval, since the Digium/Asterisk cards are more IP than analogue. Could equate this with type-approving network cards. I have set up quite a number of them and there's never been a requirement on this.
