Google now have Google Cloud SQl<https://developers.google.com/cloud-sql/docs/introduction>which is mysql hosted in the cloud. It works great with app-engine. If the OpenERP uses Mysql as the db, it is easy using Google Cloud SQl other than Big Table datastore.

So the Python app's db model will speak a dialect of your ORM language with a slightly different accent. The differences are really minimal. You will also have to do some monkey patching of your views and URL mapping code.
