it all depends on how many messages a day you send. consider it this way, every time i send a message to skunkworks, say 15kb, the server recieves 15k of data, and sends 15 X say 1000 users -> 15000Kb or 15Mb. now if you reply, its the same routine. if the total number of messages happen to be say 100 (posts and replies combined), you are looking at 1.5Gb of transfer in a day. depending on how busy the site is, this will translate to roughly 50GB of transfer in a month. So far I have the provider (MailMan - opensource) and I have the domain. The hosting is the tricky bit, most hosts restrict number of emails sent out from a domain.
