Getting stuck with Windows XP and/or Server 2003 is a financial decision, really, not being averse to change. OTOH, complaining that Windows 8 Metro or Gnome 3 is not doing this about what the producers though is user-friendliness, but they ended up missing the definition of "friendliness", or so me thinks. However, in such cases, I must say you can never satisfy everyone! On Sun, Aug 26, 2012 at 6:11 PM, Joseph Tintale <jayxtintale@gmail.com>wrote:
There are 2 things that are constant in life: change and real change. You decide whether to be left behind or move on. I know of some institutions that are stuck with windows xp and windows server 2003. You decide whether to move on with the world or stay behind alone. Dennis,
Unlike Gnome, Windows 8 has two interfaces, the traditional interface that can be invoked at startup, and the new interface that we are all used to. So no one needs to complain that they don't know where they saved their last game, or project. I find it interesting that no one is willing to invest in a little free learning. We want things in familiar packaging, saaad.

But Gnome 3 was so bad that we had to have Cinnamon to bring sanity back? How could they make a touch interface for a non-touch device where the mouse still reigned supreme. Before Gnome extensions and Cinnamon, Gnome 3 was very tiring, you got tired of unnecessarily moving the mouse for tasks that could be made simpler, and were once simpler. I hope this is not what Windows 8 has done.
