WWAN module is an optional feature. You can order it during purchase (yes, you must always try to configure the machine you buy according to your needs!) or after purchase.<br>It is NEVER included by default, even though the SIM card slot is built-in to the machine.That&#39;s my experience.<br>

Same here, we have four pieces of EliteBook 8540p laptops bought in 2010; none has ever registered the GSM/CDMA modules despite what the HP site claims.<br>
