I have always though that talk about 4G/LTE is essentially blowing hot air. Whats the uptake of 3G? Given that it still below < 10%, why invest more money in 4G whilst not every area has 3G coverage?
Wouldn't it make sense if say, demand for 3G far outstripped supply to warrant investment into 4G/LTE. Me thinks it beats all logic.
Excuse my misinformed thinking, but isn't a 4G network supposed to be backwards compatible with 3G, such that 3G devices are still supposed to work???
Should that be the case, then it is okay to build 4G even when the uptake of 3G is still low. Let us have the latest and those who can afford it use it. The uptake of 3G is something to do with affordability.
If the govt is part of this, perhaps it would be cheaper.
