Brainiac, you seem to be closest to the solution having made the screen show pictures.

I'd tried with Kaffeine but nothing came of it. tvtime had been suggested but this came way after I'd tried the other options. I must admin I'm a little sceptical to try this  - since so far, all I can get is the device propertied when I list USB devices 'lsusb' or checking the Hardware Profile but I can locate it like under /dev/.

My plan-last resort was, if I could locate the device, then I'd find a way to share it to a VM and the rest will be sorted by Windows. The greater concern is, I haven't heard very positive words about these tuners.  How can Linux not have TV?????
