First of all Kudos for providing technical support to the organisation. I would advise you to advise them to find USD 60 for a domain name and domain hosting. USD 10 for .org domain name, USD 50 for the domain hosting. Both are annual costs. USD 60 = KSH 4800 (thanks to the very weak dollar!) Even a grassroot of grassroot NGO should be able to afford that especially when you consider it is such a clever investment. Hook it up with Google Apps Standard edition (free) and all of a sudden you have a domain and professional email accounts accessible anywhere there is net and a professional look and feel. Remember even non profits are in competition, for people's time and attention and not just their money. Why should I take another look at your NGO instead of any of the thousands that are out there? In my experience I have encountered new grassroot NGOs who spend over 5k in PHOTOCOPYING a 20 page strategic plan to distribute! Others spend over 50k on brand new office equipment (such photocopiers, whiteboards, and those machines for binding reports). It is a question of prorities. KSH 5000 for a domain and hosting is a wise investment for even the smallest NGO! On Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 9:14 AM, kevin gichuhi <kevzdegich@gmail.com> wrote:
