I doubt if FE is slow, you need to be conscious of throughputs, packet per second etc. If FE is slow for you then you need better hardware than a 2811. If you are doing more on the router and adding a Switch module, then you can be sure that this will have an impact on the overall performance of the device. Look for bottlenecks elsewhere. i.e the server_NIC tweek the TCP stack for windows servers to optimize it. Switch where possible and route where necessary. If your requirements are for higher capacity - consider hardware switching and routing vs software based switching and routing.
