Allow me The reason safaricom is doing well is because those "rebels" who should be innovators want life easy. Someone finds a template online or open source code, and want to sell it for big money and rival established companies in the market without sweating it. In developed countries(like ours) its the small innovators who shake up the market and then get snapped up by bigger businesses, but you will find that someone worked on the business idea or product for a looooong time, tested it, tweeked it, then made it so valuable and different to anything else in the market, and also was not quick to sell it for a song. We are very impatient in this business coz we all want to be bill gates or the facebook guy at 22......they are usually the few less than 1 % who that will happen to . The rest of us have to sweat it. So we cant blame safaricom, we just need to be innovative and to commit ourselves to that innovation.
