How do i share folders in a LAN whose computers have Linux Mint and my laptop that runs on windows 7 platform?

Hi Michelle,

While you can implement this using either NFS or Samba (depending on which one you love to muck with), I personally find it a lot easier to run an FTP daemon on either the Windows of the Unix client and just use FTP.
If you'd like to achieve in-place edits, then Samba is the way to go, but if it's just moving files across, FTP is built-in all Unix systems and in Windows 7. It's just a matter of activating it and changing firewall rules to accommodate the service.

YMMV.
