Actually this is very interesting.I've found out that the problem is not the tabs.Its actually a silly mistake on my part,validation controls which I've added.Since there are multiple tabs on the form, when a cmd button is pressed, it triggers all the validations in the form including in the tabs which I haven't yet filled data so nothing can work till I fill all the data in all the tabs.I now have to trigger only the relevant specific validation controls for each command button.
