If am understand things correctly, what Wesley is proposing is not a system that will compete with ZAP/MPESA. What he is proposing is something similar to the way iPhone apps are distributed. i.e. develop an app, upload it to some skunk store (app store), then anyone who wants the app can pay and download it from there.

In this case ZAP/MPESA could serve as alternative payment mechanisms for the proposed system (i.e. if paypal/credit cards are also incorporated for those who prefer that route) .

Wesley,

I  like playing the devil's advocate or the dumb guy. And so plse tell me the following:
1. How different is this from MPESA/ZAP and/or Paypal products? &
2. If it's different, how do u plan to eat into MPESA/ZAP markets? &
3. What makes you think MPESA/ZAP will be cheering you on or how do you plan to take on the competition?

walu.
