Maximum length of a USB 2.0 cable is 5m. It can be extended up to 30m by using 5 USB hubs (what a mess) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Serial_Bus#Maximum_useful_distance There is also the possibility to use USB over ethernet extension (100m) http://www.everythingusb.com/hardware/USB_distance_extension/ But why? Much easier to get a USB printer enabled router in this case. I used to use USB extension cables to get better signals from USB modems and some worked with 5m (E220) but most only with 3m (and some not even with 3m). Alvin Jason Ochieng wrote:
Zack if you get this original please share the info as the signal is lost over long distances!!
