@wash the 40g does not boot alone since the motherboard has change (error:nksr miss dont know what this is )so the only way that can work is by repairing the windows installation via cd on this hdd i want this to be the last solution i try, looking for a simpler and faster way.

would deleting the windows folder on C:/ of the 40g work by booting from cd so as it can be detected as an additional hdd am afraid of losing the data??

@Nerdalf, to save on time, suggest that you get a USB to IDE convertor. Usually these cards can be found inside those units offering Ext HDD casings.
Have you tried to use the CDROM drive cable too as this is usually sec and retain boot to primary 160GB?
