Haki Aki I think you are doing a
tremendous job, and you seem to have good grass roots skills and the ability to
mobilize the masses for a good cause. Sometimes I am tempted to think that you
are in to politics because you seem to connect well with people.
Your idea of a Developer of the Year award is great, and I am willing to
support the initiative. But for this to have some sort of credibility, I still
think it is about time Skunkworks became an organized group rather than the amorphous
group of techies based on the internet that it is. You will be surprised at how
much capital we can suddenly have when we become organized, think of the
Marketing Society of Kenya, Computer Society of Kenya and such group. We will
be able to attract big ticket sponsors. I can imagine no one wants to fund a
group without a physical address lest they be accused of money laundering.
I know you have said that this is not the priority now, but I think we should
be looking at the direction. We could even setup a small secretariat and see how
everything goes from there.
There are just my thoughts; I would like to hear what others say.
Anyway, good job done Aki. I know I will never know your real name, but that is
fine with me. I also will never know who Mobitelea is, but I am not suggesting
the two are related. That would be travesty.
