You need a permit from the city council. I think it costs about ksh. 4,000 for a day.

Hello,

We are planning as Wikipedians in Kenya to take photos of monuments and buildings around Nairobi then later upload them to Wikimedia Commons under the Creative Commons license. These photos are in turn used in Wikipedia articles lacking pictures or Articles shall later be written that were lacking yet the photograph is now available.

On that note, am I required to have some form of permit? Or any other form of permission from the Kenyan authorities.

PS: From Wikimedia Commons, Kenya is categorized as having freedom of Panorama.

Please advise.
