Such a link would work at 8km but it will be susceptible to interference since there isn't a narrow beam width. If you really want to use such a link it would work best in noise-free areas. Also try a 40mhz bandwidth and enable nstreme for best performance. Nv2 does work but IMO has higher jitter than nstreme in noisy environments. It's better suited to ptmp setups. As a cpe the sxt can work with 15km on 20mhz bandwidth. YMMV. For ptp I recommend nanobridge or powerbridge or rocketdish (from lower to higher performance, in that order). With 34dbi rocketdish and a set of rocket m5s (non gps) at the back of each you can do over 80mbps tcp throughput comfortably over 40km.
