I see alot of 'inbox me your best offers' on this list but since most of us probably use threaded email (gmail, etc...), it's really no more of a burden to have the replies in addition to the original request in our inbox.

What would people think about open bids becoming the norm so that we all see the pricing that's available for these products?  That would be great for transparency and would also be edifying for people who have no idea how much something like this should cost.
