It cant. MySQL's GPLv2 licence allows for that kind of maneno. No reason law suits...(For now atleast )
When you finally get mariadb running, the binaries and the console are "mysql*". Unless I am wrong, the last time I ran mariadb (i was just checking it out), the usual "mysql*" commands applied.
