It would be wise to know the underlying (maybe EEPROM) chip: ARM, PIC, Motorola, etc and the board supporting it.
Are the embedded In-dash GUI systems (we get them in Japanese, for
X-Japan imports) reprogrammable? Can we be able to reuse the hardware
by flashing out the automotive OEMs(in Japanese) and installing an
embedded Linux solution(made in Kenya using available opensource UI
toolkits) providing readable applications(in English and Swahili) and
depending with its capabilities provide Navigation applications,
entertainment, wireless telephony, Internet connectivity, remote
productivity, and other in-car applications? - a in-dash GUI system
with built-in bluetooth can provide an interesting array services by
dialling into the internet using your bluetooth enabled phone.
