So is it fair to say that if the users were photographers / programmers ( High End Users ) the upgrade would be a viable justification? For reference purposes this question has been asked. Thank you @Wash and @Greg for your input. Watchie. On Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 11:56 AM, Gregory Okoth <gregory.okoth@gmail.com>wrote:
I concur, when upgrading to Windows 7, one must have appreciated the pains of Windows security, viruses among a myriad of other issues usually experienced by advansed Windows users. For someone who doesn't do much more that sending emails and playing Minesweeper, I would suggest you stick to XP....
@ Wash, indeed....only but money to lose to Micro$oft!

So,
After a lengthy chat with a friend who is quite proficient in Windows technology and terminology, he convinced me to shift the Home PC's ( Yes. I know. I am ashamed ) to windows 7 32Bit from XP. Another "Expert" who just happens to be my cousin working for a MS Disti in UG claims the benefits are not so WOOP! and it won't really help my parents more with their emailing etc. than in XP.
Is this true?
I am ignorant in Windows technologies. I've checked a number of online comparisons and each is partial.
What say the Skunks?
Hello Watchie,
It's been said that Windows 7 incorporates the aesthetics of Vista with the speed of XP, and adds some sanity to the security architecture of Windows. I tend to agree with that. For a user who does just e-mailing, there is not so much to gain from the upgrading, but just money to lose to Microsoft:)
