That happened to me mid last year and the sudden rise in the cost was attributed to increase in cost of fuel. So i guess once you get through to customer care that will be th reason. If otherwise please tell us what explanation they will give.
We are in the same boat.
My average bill is about Kshs. 350 - Kshs. 400, last month's bill came
to over Kshs. 600. I paid Kshs. 700.
Then using their email generated response (bill@kplc.co.ke), this
month's bill has shot to Kshs. 1,115.
I've contacted them via the customer feedback form on their website
and #KenyaPower on twitter, but there's no response.
I haven't made any changes to the normal electrical gadgets in the house.
I think the government is collecting $$$ 5(2 3@1 'Ocampo Six', whether
we like it, or otherwise!
