Am a volunteer @St. John Ambulance I once thought of the same, I had mobilized guys for a tree planting session @Karura but the management there told me u hav to part with 52,000 sh. for some logistics ati its mostly reserved for the corporates..I got information ati u can plant trees at Ngong forest for free but u hav to get legal permission from local administration (D.C.) ... and since so much attention is focused on Mau and leaving other places.I suggest we also look at other local reserves and forests coz the the government is planning to achieve the 10% forest cover by 2050. I think all skunkers can join forces and do this.. i am working with a small self help group consisting mostly of class 8
graduates (not drop-outs!) and its a privilage.we are taking indegenous seedlings from the adjucent forest and putting them into tubes for transplanting so far we have 7k seedlings by march we hope to have 100k destination mau .sasa iko shida there is a mini mau taking place with some vijana very agressive ones digging this very important catchment are for seregea sublocation they are a front for guys who want to cut the forest and grab the 7 acre shamba .can ushaidi highlight us and mulika this waizi ive taken pics on my 3g mtusaidie msaidie kenya
