Hi guys,
I have poured over the internet and I dont seem to see a work around to this;
My dilemma is that I have (1) a WIFi or Dial-up connection for Internet (I say OR because I can use either)
(2) a LAN connection where i need to access the equipment to work
I need to find a way I can keep one internet connection active and the LAN - Or select some programs to use the LAN and the browsers/chats to use Internet
(Cos both are needed for a successful work).
Is there a work around for this,, mabbe a program that traps the connections and asks the user which connection to use :-) ?

*Background: *Windows uses only one connection, and usually will select the one with Internet; Or the one with lower metric;
I have tried to play around with the metrics (raising or lowering from the control panel>network connections) to create a situation where my first connection is LAN, and if any application wants to access the Internet, it finds the other connection that has DNS etc and goes to the Internet - but nothing ! <n00b>
Anyone ever tried to work around this on Windows ?
<am on Vista platform - dont ask why :( >
