@Webmaster, nah, its not Joomla bashing. For the
record, I use Joomla everyday @ work and its my default choice for
any website I do, I just get really pissed off at idiot
programmers who fail to use it properly.
Learn PHP, some framework (CI, Kohana, ZF etc) then start using
Joomla = very good
Learn Joomla, forget PHP ever existed, start developing websites =
idiot developer
Ok, first of all, big humongous
congrats on building your own CMS from scratch while
in 2nd year, when I was in second year, I was busy
chasing... never mind. I pray you don't get tempted by
Joomla and forsake your noble cause. Not that Joomla
is bad, but it pays to learn hard core PHP.
1. Keep on improving it. Those times you are in class
and the lecturer is dead boring, be jotting down ideas
on how to improve it.
2. I need a simple CMS back end which does the
following:
a. Simple article and menu/page management, including
ability to add metatags for each article
b. Uploading and managing pictures and videos
c. Basic user management
Can your CMS do that? If your answer is 0.5 to 1,
where 0 = No and 1 = yes, then get me offlist tuongee
:-)
Some will say Joomla et al does all this, but I dont
want to use Joomla coz of the heartache of converting
a HTML template to a Joomla et al template.

It uses a CMS I built from scratch early this
year. I'm a 2nd year
comp-science dood at KU, and at the time,
implementing an equivalent
of Joomla (only faster and leaner) in a
few-months-time looked
achievable, lol... I've grown up since, and i now
call it an
experiment/project... and despite its grave need
for a redesign &
re-implementation, the CMS kinda works OK ;-D
Anyways, its up for sale, as it is, from 10k [bei
ya campo :-)].
I guess its suitable for some NGO, or
small-medium-ish businesses...
or even the occassional briefcase company (could
make the outfit
appear more credible) ... or just about any entity
that doesn't need
an overly interactive site.
You could even get it for you're girlfriend! ...
score points by
claiming u coded the whole thing over a tea break.
i know most of u
geeks use jargon in you're foreplay, lol, hehehehe
... or its just me who does that o_O ??
.... moving on... part of the proceeds of the
purchase will be donated
to the kenyans-for-kenya thing. Scout's honour on
that ;-)
.
... once purchased, expect it to be up on ur
domain of choice in no
time (note that "no-time" in kenya is subject to
delays from traffic
jams and power rationing). Its a php site (in case
some of you who go
to iHub dint notice), so don't drop me a
windows-hosted domain like a
client once did to me, lol
... so, niaje skunkie... why not "promote" and
support this upcoming
script-kiddie ;-)
.... and if you're not buying, i'd appreciate
you're review/critism
