The post is quite on point. Infringing on other people's hard work cannot be acceptable by all means; be it software or artistic work. I think there are always free alternatives. Otherwise it's only reasonable to be prepared to pay. For instance I prefer to use Libre Office on my Windows rather than go cracking MS Office.

If you're able to see the bigger picture like depicted in the post, then you'll be ready to go the extra mile. It's a culture that we really ought to build. Mostly it's not even about the high price. Think about the cost of most mp3's for instance. $.99 or less! That said, I might have infringed once or twice and am not proud about it.
