It seems you have a particular IC in mind - given the exact specifications... and with such precise specifications, you wont get it in Kenya, and if they tell you they can get it, then they will import it and pass the cost and their cut to you... You can try 'robotshop' online or the same 'sharp' website and just import it,, its always easier.. However, someone told me some bad news, that kenya revenue/ customs charge you 41% for anything above 60 dollars,, is this true ? I truly believe if Kenya is to get 2030, such stupid heavy levies have to addressed, imagine if you import things actually worth 1000 dollars, you have to pay an extra 500 dollars [40k - for shipping and KRA to own them]... So how are people supposed to do research or innovation or even invention if the government always wants what you have ??? I believe if you cannot find a particular good/product [especially ICT related] in Kenya, in view of the tax pax on ICT, then taxes should be kept at a minimum as long as you are not selling or importing in mass... Reason? You cant find it in Kenya, so you are not spoiling someone's business !!!
