You can have "wireless" connectivity using HAM radio - voice and data. Very low data rates, very high latency...but with that, you can talk to a guy on the other side of the planet....a very laggy internet, yu get the point. Remember the days BEFORE the "internet" - modems, POTS, BBS's, static, text-only websites....? We'd be back there. Down but not out...
