These Governments seriously control any satellite equipment such a VSATs, Thuraya and BGANs. And since Thuraya is owned by some Arabs, they can actually switch off the signal or block it in specific areas in the Arab world such a Sudan or Egypt. They even disable GPS functionality on the iPhone.
