You will lose the ability to use M-PESA if you port to another network. Any unutilized M-PESA balance at the time of porting will not be accessible to you once you move to another operator. The balance will be transferred to a holding account and can be refunded on request.

I guess if you port and someone sends you cash, the rules for sending to another network apply.
