[Skunkworks] What's up with this fear of Safaricom?!

I have been pitching my latest idea to people, and the question I get asked the most is "what if Safaricom do the same thing?" What is with this fear of Safaricom all the time from developers and investors? Kwani what have Safaricom done to be so feared? Their successes outside their core voice & SMS business are countable on one hand!
