The one on 7th floor is usually particularly busy, and closes late. Makes it an ideal meeting place for geeks :-) Oh yeah, and the cybers in interfina house, open very early, close late. They seem averagely busy. I concur with @Kibui, cyber's are no longer just about internet, but related services. Of the several times I have visited a cyber, it is often while waiting for someone, or waiting for the rain to stop raining, or waiting for freak traffic jams to clear. Ok let me ask foolishly,
How many people own a cell phone that can retrieve and read a PDF file.
How many people have a phone that can read, attach and download a .doc/x,
xls and plah plah
that answered how many people can afford internet daily or go for the idea
of having a modem loaded
with bundles monthly to access internet.
Ok I said they are foolish so don look at me, How many cybers have closed or
opened new branches
Ok how many times has a friend told you am from a cyber or I will go to

Cyber Cafe's are not only about accessing the Internet. Look at them
from the perpective of offering Infrastructure as a Service. They are
about offering connected front end computing resources all packaged as
a time or per use based service. These could range from desktop
computers, fax, printers, Media editing and writing etc
Yes most people can afford mobile data and probably a not-so-smart
phone to access the Internet BUT not many can afford a computer and
even if they could afford a dirt cheap one .. it is not really a
priority investment in the common Kenyan household. One may argue that
one doesn't need a computer BUT try writing a thesis or term paper on
a blackberry or S3 and you will soon find yourself in a Cyber.
Other factors include availability of power, physical security, space
and with the young generation Cyber's have become hangout joints for
socializing..

At Ksh. 1 or less, Cybers are affordable to many that mobile data (Ksh.
2
per minute) or bundles which many come to find translate to more than
Ksh.
60 per hour.
Ksh. 100 will get you 2 or more hours (can download lots) in a cyber
compared to 80Mb on Safaricom.
