IT manager Questions should be done with specific organizational goals in mind , if the company is looking for someone who will lead it to using new technologies not existing the organization , then they're not looking for a techie manager they are looking for a project manager (i suspect that's what they're looking for in this case) , if they're looking for a manager to come in and take control over the systems and technologies the organization has invested in , then they're looking for the guy who's been in the trenches and seen it all from cable laying to server setups to disaster recovery preparedness or in some cases has been involved in disaster recovery (most companies i'm sure don't do the disaster recovery preparedness drills , but most bank IT guys know what i'm talking of) , then there are those who are looking for someone who will help the organization in getting "more from their investments" , here you're looking at the IT idea think tank , basically integrations , automation ,new services (at no cost apart from human resource and dev feature enhancements ) , this guy basically has a vast experience with systems and probably has certificates from all over
All organizations will have to go through these types of managers.
