Bridge International Academies is looking for a short-term consultant with proven experience in enterprise network design and optimization, firewalls, and WiFi.  Our LAN has roughly 500 users on a mix of wired and wireless connections and we need to make sure it will scale as the business grows.  We are looking for a real expert (10+ years industry experience).  Would like someone available to start in the next couple of weeks.  Send me your CV if you are interested.  Detailed description of the position is below.

Josh

1.       Capacity Analysis

A.      Conducts Capacity analysis of all Network hardware – Firewall, Routers, APs, Switches, Cabling, etc

-          Are the systems under utilized

-          Are the systems over utilized

-          Are the systems able to support our current needs

-          Are the systems able to support future growth- one year, five years

-          Are there limitations with the current hardware/ systems

-          If the hardware is able to support current need, how many additional data needs can it support

B.      Investigate and Recommend the best cost effective network equipments to support our current and future growth

C.      Compare current network hardware though put with expected through put to support our current and future growth

D.      Inspect and report internal and external network traffic

E.       Inspect and report internet configurations and traffic

-          Is the current bandwidth under utilized

-          Is the current bandwidth over utilized

-          Is there a formulae we could use to determine the amount of bandwidth we need in relation to number of users and our data needs

-          Inspect and report our two internet lines

2.       WIFI

A.      Inspect current WIFI settings – Both logical and Physical

B.      Investigate and report bottlenecks with the current WIFI setup

C.      Investigate and report why some ERP cannot work on WIFI – Navision, Land Pipeline, and Bridge Manager.

D.      Investigate and report why WIFI is Erratic

E.       Investigate and recommend best cost effective WIFI logical and Physical Design for BIA

F.       Investigate and recommend the best cost effective WIFI solution (Hardware and Software) for BIA                           

3.       Wired Network

A.      Inspect and report on current wired network design – Logical and Physical

B.      Investigate and report bottlenecks with the current Network design

C.      Investigate and recommend best and cost effective Network Design for BIA

4.       Firewall and Routers

A.      Inspect and report current physical and logical settings for BIA Cisco routers and Checkpoint firewall

B.      Investigate and report bottlenecks with current Firewall and routers settings and configurations

C.      Investigate and recommend best cost effective firewall and routers components for BIA

D.      Investigate and report the feasibility of running VLANs and DMZ

5.       Network monitoring and management tools

A.      Investigate and recommend best and cost effective network management and monitoring tools
