A majority of Safaricom shareholders are its own customers too. And most shareholders have figured out that they are spending more on airtime than what they get back as dividends (since the share price is pretty much stagnant), hence they are happy with the price reductions. Its good for consumers, good for most shareholders and maybe not so good for a _few_ shareholders.
