Hey @ Moses, I enjoyed reading the requirements that you listed. Pls add any corrections :-)
I'd like to add a few points. From the criteria you listed, I add :
- Interested in learning and have a creative mind that enjoys the challenges of application development
Great, what motivation is going to be provided by the prospective employer?
- Enjoys client interaction and problem solving, in a passionate way.
I can share a golden secret. If he/she are good at Customer skills, they are definately not good in their tech skills. Means that have a techie gift of the gab and can impress but dont have the techie "blood" to carry out the bolts/nuts of the work.
- Knows the tools of your trade
Meaning there is no system in place that provides tools to carry out tasks? So the coder is on their own?
- Wants to raise the skill level of the whole team, not just themselves
Team player or team leader? Team leader gift of the gab, team player does the real work. Back to golden secret.
- Knows the value of a great user experience when it comes to building applications
How will a coder achieve this? They code, not interprets what the client wants. Eg, Client wants a leather seats full edition car. Engineer can put in faster engine, better brakes but cannot think of leather seats/colour scheme. Company goes to interior designers?
In section :
We don’t enjoy reading lists – especially not a list of the 50 technologies you know. If your resume doesn’t make it clear that you have focus on a specific web technology(s) then you’re just wasting both of our time sending us your CV – and nobody enjoys having their time wasted.
Ok, but have you just listed many functions of the coder = Team developer, no tools, customer support, client visionary, PHP, Python, AJAX, Javascript, CSS and MySQL, Python, PHP, AJAX, J2ME, JQuery, etc.
I think what you really need is a someone who does not ( if he ) shave for many days..... :-))))
Just pulling your leg. Good luck in finding this person.
Best Rgds.
