Authorised Apple resellers are countable on one hand; and last time I checked, none of them is in the CBD.There are other sellers in town, such as Ebrahim Electronics (whose prices are actually quite good), but they are not authorised resellers

Went to the Elite digital service center and they say that though I amunder warranty, they charge a service charge for macs not bought at their shops. And my warranty is still valid for harddisk replacement though.I happen not to know where this macbook was bought just that the shop is in town. Would anyone know of an apple reseller in town?On Mon, Feb 18, 2013 at 5:23 PM, Wallace Ngene <wallacengene@gmail.com> wrote:
had the same issue on an imac...after upgrade failed but restored to factory osx.
try reinstaling previous os but if its under warranty should be covered if its a hardware issue but for spares takes 3 to 4wks or even more depending on where u purchased it.WALLACE NGENE TARURU

That is covered by warranty.
I don't think installing any software on the Mac voids your warranty so bootcamp, Unix, etc on the Mac should be perfectly legal.
I believe warranty is usually on hardware. Software can be reinstalled.

I recently upgraded from 10.7.5 to 10.8.2 but I doubt that could be the cause. It started with osx refusing to boot and soon it could only open recovery.
The machine is only about 8 months old and this is highly unusual no? I have windows on a bootcamp partition but should this be an issue?
This should be covered by warranty shouldn't it?
