Hi Tony, The FXO connects to an analogue port at the exchange, thus lack of Caller ID functionality. The upgraded exchanges assist is the enhanced capability to handle call routing, CAC, etc..etc However, you can configure your asterisk trunk to show caller ID on outbound calls. I’ve an asterisk box with a digium t800p fxo card. I would like to see the caller id of incoming calls on the Telkom Kenya lines (I think all exchanges are digital). Telkom says that’s a config on the pbx side but I know this to be not a fact as the same box has an ISDN line which works perfectly. Anyone has ideas of techies at Telkom I can talk to to advise the exchange guys?
