I find the KYC thing rather strange. What is it that the government cant find out about you if it really wants to? Your Bank account is tied to your ID which should Ideally be foolproof. How do the Americas do it? Do the British have IDs? On Tue, Jun 9, 2015 at 10:07 PM, Bwana Lawi via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:
Any bank that opens an account without asking a million questions and requiring you to fill 1001 forms is definitely flouting a lot of rules. The KYC requirements from KBA/regulatory authorities is very comprehensive.
So getting an account in 5 mins is not necessarily a good thing. Same way in some countries you cannot just buy a sim card.
Just saying

hehe kwani Jared you don't want to pay for a loan? I'm guessing anyone would nag you if you past the due date...
I'd go with DTB. My account has been there 8 years now, I opened a business account in 10 minutes flat, got email notifications on transfers, email indemnity so I can email instructions, at one time the manager cleared a check I had issued and funds had delayed just because I was his first customer for the day. Maybe something to do with that indian thing of you must make that sale if it's the first. Opened a subsequent USD and EURO account over the phone and operated them for years (since they already had my docs). They now have a decent mobile app. They were also instrumental in 15 minute transfers from DTB burundi to DTB kenya even if they were different banks with same brand. Also opened a pall's account over the phone and was active, but was given 60 days to produce documentation. Not bad.
Only downside is they don't offer unsecured loans. ᐧ
