Are there any sexier things to include job requirements? In this ICT world one need to people who do things, and especially in IT where things changes too abruptly.
I have seem crazy requirements and heard lunatic questions in interviews and fields. This is caused by unrealistic academicians, who are constantly eventing "crazy things" that would give them relevancy in our real world.
Do share a couple of the crazier requirements you have seen :-)
Creativity(new ways, ideas) is inversely related to Experience (same old and repeated and established ) .And in fact life isnt that way we only need good developer with a degree of flexibilities.
1.Language structure and IDEs even frameworks are not that static and even backward compatible lets alone resemble predecessors.
As with other fields of computer science, the key concepts are reasonable to apply across implementations.
2.Some technologies shift from open to propriety .If googlle didnt win against Oracle Java would be something else.
How did Java "shift from open to propriety" ? Oracle's legal case was about the use of Java APIs' in Android.
3,Other frameworks got abandoned by it custodian communities.
Fair point. Technologies get phased out and abandoned for very reasons.
4.Vendors change direction and put more effort to kill the heavily invested trends.(Apple is moving to Swift ,leaving the big Object C developers base useless).
Swift is built upon Objective C. You should try it ;-)
5.Customers sometimes have projects that require technologies with no available developers.Someone inside is supposed to learn things very quickly and jump into production.
6.With innovations happening in areas like mobile industries, its more likely to find things that needs creativity and guarantee.
Its obvious there is a need for change in perception.Ability and flexibility are more important that anything. Most of the time tech figure out what they have at hands. You need new set of skills whenever you step in new things.Even when you change you server systems, fleet of Airplanes etc someone has to learn quickly and go to live projects.Would ask them for these damn year before they start to toy with your multi-millions investments.
I have had an encounter with a customer who wasn't slandering new products ,at the same time he was a proud fan and overly reliant on of M-Pesa. By that time M-Pesa was less than 3yrs old.You can imagine how silent he went after I un-expectedly pointed out it.
