At this rate, when do we think some cheaper power will flow into our homes? There is no expansion in the economy, the power consumed is coming mainly from the extra lighting on our roads and the expanding apartments and not industry (thats my analysis). During the Moi era, the city and countryside were dingy, now they are all lit.
When will we get cheaper power? Go nuclear? A Japan scale crising and we are doomed. Sorry no nuclear, we are clearly not ready. Solar, Wind and Geo are a better option though I don't know when we will adopt them commercially. Coal? May be Kalonzo should forget more politics and embrace more coal mining as a strategy to improve the lives of Ukambani region. Then we will have cheaper power from Ukambani coal fields.
