Those were huge investments done, especially on Teams. How did safaricom pull off the profitability via 3g and Wimax in less than a year? Therefore, data rates should now be heading downwards. OneCom and Packet Stream Data Networks were two Wimax companies which may not have just picked up 100s of Wimax clients given ISP saturation in the sector. I think the main driving force is 3G. Zain, Orange and Yu need to get together on infrastructure and license fee. Since number portability is coming, data portability seems like a sensible approach. BTW, anyone know what rates Safaricom offers on Wimax?
