At 9.10, ubuntu can automatically detect a huawei modem.
Uninstall wvdial, plugin the modem and paste the output of "tail -f /var/log/syslog" here

./bernard

I am trying to connect ubuntu live cd 9.10 to the internet with an e220 modem, done all command to identify the e220 as a modem with the likes of

rmmod usb-storage and all the other commands.

Also did sudo  gedit  /etc/wvdial.conf for the wvdial.conf file creation and editing, reached this point without issues.
Problem is when i do  wvdial hsdpa it gives an error wvdial not installed what is another way to do this or what am i doing wrong.
Please Help.

Regards,
Nerdalf.
