Here's an app (Product Recalls) that I use fairly regularly and that has been surprisingly useful, considering it is a government smartphone app:

http://apps.usa.gov/product-recalls-2/

It checks product recalls from a bunch of US govt. agencies and provides you with the latest such info. I have found it extremely useful when shopping for baby stuff; previously we used to rely on recalls being covered by the media. Turns out there are many, many more not covered at all.

A very simple app, and very, very useful. It got me thinking about what dead-simple govt. apps could prove useful in Nairobi.

Any ideas? The nearest voting stations (from your present location) might be useful for the coming referendum.
