Hi , The WiMax band (2.5 GHz, 3.5GHz and the license free ISM band 5.8GHz )are way beyond the band used for FM transmission ( 88 to 108 MHz) and simple wave theory shows that they cannot interfere with each other and cause the outage. The main reason could be that the signals are suffering from signal fades at that particular location. buildings and other clutter obstruct the signal path beyond which even good old refraction cannot bend the signal and deliver at least a good signal. FM systems are good at these methods of reception, making use of the frequency threshold and capture effect advantage, thats except at that location -:) -- Dennis M. Could be the Access Kenya Wimax base-station near there. It uses microwave technology that pre-empts any interfering frequency so that their clients can get the best signal to noise ratio for reliable internet. The dark side of technological migration or what!!
