What smarthost do you want to use (if you plan on using one)? By default Safaricom blocks all smtp connections to any destination except to its smarthosts. You may have to ask them to allow you to relay your own emails if you are on their internet connection or simply use their smarthosts.

Am trying to setup postfix to relay emails through the email (for the registered domain) provided by safaricom

I think the IP am sending from is blacklisted but setting up an email client and accessing the same smtp server works fine from the same IP postfix is sending from. What do i do to resolve this issue?

Mind you, the relay host has to be configured to accept your server
requests,,else all mails will bounce back.
