As much as l would like to point a finger at Jumia, have also been a victim on eBay with substandard products. So my advise is check, the return policy on any online store before purchasing. In the case of eBay a full refund is possible as long as you are not happy same should apply locally to give us the confidence that you not losing out if the product turns out to be not at par.

Be careful when you buy goods online even on Jumia. You will find new counterfeit items there too. Yes they sell original products like the Samsung I'm using that I got there in 2015 but they sell fake too especially accessories like power banks, earphones, chargers etc. I ordered Sony earphones for 1000 only to receive counterfeit ones that you can get for sh 150 on Luthuli Avenue.
I raised the alarm on twitter and many replied with how they have received fake stuff too including clothing.
Jumia replied and told me I can return them for a refund but I had already got rid of them out of frustration.
I would advice visiting original physical stores like Anisuma, Nakumat and Safaricom shops.
