Might be a case of limitation on public IPv4 addresses. Can't imagine there is any more SPs still tied to the notion of enforcing security by hiding devices behind NAT. Again, SP end kind of NAT was used to ensure reliance on SP, old school again, as it made it difficult to host any web services within the local environment if only a private IP addresses were used.
Is there a good reason why Orange Telecom (what is the name?) is doing NAT for 3G users or maybe I am just being silly?
I am looking at the status of my router - I use a dongle on a D-Link DIR-825 - and my WAN IP is 10.53.26.48.
However, whatismyip.com tells me that my IP address is 21.49.8.1
